Jersey photographer: a family photoshoot at St Ouen’s in April
I adore this family, and was so lucky to be asked to photograph them for a second year. Their boys are gorgeous little wildlings that love the outdoors, so are incredibly fun to photograph. I have to be quick on my feet with my camera to catch them though!
Now that I have been in Jersey for over a year, and have walked my dog at pretty much every place imaginable on this island to scout them all for photoshoot potential, I feel like I have created a set of my own outdoors studios. I can now confidently recommend locations for your photoshoot based on the wind direction, tide, weather, sunset and sunrise time, flower bloom time and what your children will enjoy most.
At St Ouen’s I love the deep blue of the waves as they crash onto the beach and the energy it gives to your photoshoot. I have a favourite tree there, where at a particular time before sunset the light speckles through it like warm fairylights. I know where on the beach to catch the beautiful reflective sand silhouettes as the sun dips into the sea. The amazing variety in such a small area of coast, complete with trees to climb, makes St Ouen’s perfect for photographing energetic little explorers.
I hope you love looking through these vibrant and heartfelt images of this beautiful family of boys. With thanks to the Bartlett family for letting me share my favourites from their gallery xx
If you would like to book in for a photoshoot for your little adventurers after the lockdown, I’d love to hear from you.
